Home Inspection Blues
Home inspections, sometimes we love them and sometimes we don’t. They can be one of the most stressful times in the escrow process for home buyers, sellers, and realtors! But does it have to be? In my opinion, no. If you know what to expect during a home inspection then I think it’s a little easier to deal with when you open up that report. Let’s break it down.
Home inspectors are professionals who are hired to conduct a thorough examination of a residential property to determine its overall condition, identify any potential problems or defects, and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements. Important information here. Their job is to point out ANY POTENTIAL PROBLEM OR DEFECTS. If at any point you have lived inside of a house you know that there could be many potential problems or defects at any given time.
During a home inspection, the inspector will typically examine the property's structure, including the foundation, walls, roof, and floors, as well as the electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems. They will also inspect the property's interior and exterior, including doors, windows, insulation, and ventilation.
The home inspector will typically prepare a written report that outlines their findings, including any potential problems or defects that they have identified. They may also provide recommendations for repairs or improvements, and offer advice on how to maintain the property in good condition.
The purpose of a home inspection is to provide potential buyers with a better understanding of the property they are considering purchasing. By identifying any potential issues early on, buyers can make informed decisions about whether to proceed with the purchase, negotiate with the seller to address any problems, or walk away from the deal altogether.
To sum it up home inspectors are there to point out what’s wrong or potentially problematic and possibly give you advice on how to correct it. A lot of the times those issues are simple fixes, sometimes they are major problems that will cost you a lot of money if not taken seriously. Either way the inspection report is there to help you make an informed decision.
